Our Mission

Washington’s District Export Council

The Washington District Export Council is an organization of business leaders from local communities in Washington, appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, whose knowledge of and expertise in international business provides a source of professional advice for their region’s local firms.

Closely affiliated with the U.S. Commerce Department’s Export Assistance Centers and the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service, the Washington DEC works together with 60 DECs that exist throughout the country to support the U.S. Government’s export promotion efforts to include:

Promoting export opportunities
Advocating trade promotion policies
Supporting businesses in developing export successes

Our members provide practical advice and strategies related to international trade, leveraging their own experience and networks to assist local businesses looking to advance their own trade expansion programs.
