U.S. tariffs on imported raw materials add costs to finished products for U.S. manufacturers. Overseas tariffs impact the competitiveness of U.S. exports. Join the International Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and the East Michigan District Export Council for an expert panel discussion about tariffs and strategies for mitigating impact and influencing applicability. The discussion will be tailored to U.S.-based importers and exporters and their legal and business advisors; however, all persons seeking additional knowledge about tariffs are welcome. The presentation will cover:

  • types of tariffs purposes of tariffs
  • international agreements and norms present and anticipated government policies
  • strategies to mitigate impact and influence applicability
