Beyond Borders: Navigating the Indo-Pacific Export Landscape

The Indo-Pacific region is poised to become the fastest-growing area in the world. Recent economic forecasts indicate that by 2025, it will be home to 15 of the world’s 20 fastest-growing economies.

Overall, the region’s real GDP growth is projected to average 4.6% in 2024 and 4.4% in 2025, significantly outpacing the global averages of 3.1% and 3.2%, respectively.

Projected regional growth rates include:

– Southeast Asia: 5.1% in 2024 and 5.2% in 2025
– South Asia: 6.0% in 2024 and 6.2% in 2025
– East Asia: 4.2% in 2024 and 4.0% in 2025
– Oceania: 2.1% in 2024 and 2.3% in 2025

While each region faces its own set of challenges, the overall economic outlook remains one of robust growth.

Why the Indo-Pacific, Why Now?

The Indo-Pacific is the most economically dynamic region globally, representing 65% of the world’s population and 62% of global GDP. It boasts the largest reserves of rare earth elements, alongside substantial reserves of oil, natural gas, and minerals. Additionally, this region accounts for 46% of international trade and half of global maritime transport. As the largest and last emerging market, the Indo-Pacific presents significant supply chain and consumer opportunities akin to those Southeast Asia offered two decades ago.
